We extensively developed a new illustration style for Chester Zoo species, making them more detailed so we were able to highlight more specific anatomical features and adaptations.

This more sophisticated illustrative style not only allowed audiences of all ages to clearly distinguish and compare different species, it also meant we could show visitors specific animal behaviours where photography was not available or suitable.

When presented in situ, the interpretation graphics offered a varied and appealing means of information-giving which was successful in educating, informing and entertaining a cross-generational audience.
